New RSE Policy for parents' consultation

Posted On: 17 January 2020

As a school, we are underway with a full curriculum review, which includes taking a close look at provision for Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE) education. From September 2020, the government have defined Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) as a compulsory feature of all primary school curriculums. For Church Langley Primary School, relationships education has always formed part of our PSHE curriculum, so this is nothing new. However, the profile of sex education has been raised and to this end we will begin a period of consultation with parents, characterised by information sharing, with opportunities to comment on policy and practice in relation to RSE and to learn more about the materials the school will use to deliver the RSE strand of PSHE.

This consultation will begin with the RSE Policy, which will be available on the school website from this Friday – 24th January – for parents to read and review. We ask you to send any comments on the policy to admin@churchlangley.essex.sch.uk marked with the subject ‘RSE Consultation’.  The window for consultation will close on Friday 7th February 2020. We look forward to hearing your comments and addressing any queries you wish to raise.
