Year 6 behind the scenes at Sky Game Changers

Posted On: 05 November 2015

What an amazing experience!

This was the general feeling, travelling back from an incredibly full day of filming at the Sky Sports studios in London. The children were great and thoroughly enjoyed their experience on set, behind the scenes and outside filming. Having arranged a date with the Sky producers, the children were transported by coaches and introduced to the presenters of the show - Darren Campbell and Di Dougherty and the special guests - England Rugby star Danny Care and Paralympian Olivia Breen. The children learnt about how shows are produced and recorded, learning about all the behind the camera rehearsal and warm-ups that contribute to creating a show.

Some of the children were chosen to take a more active part, competing in the skills challenge part of the show; again they didn't let us down and really enjoyed their time in the spotlight.

The episodes will be aired on Sky Sports in the coming weekends (they shall also be available 'On Demand') - for those without Sky we are hoping to secure a copy of the show, which we will endeavour to put on this website.

Our thanks to Lee Pursey (Olivia's dad) for putting the school in contact with the programme producers; to the 5 members of staff who gave up their evening to accompany the children and to the parents for waiting patiently following the traffic delay.
