Creative Week - Year 1 Art Work

In Year 1, the children learnt about the artist Andy Warhol who was famous for his Pop Art style. They found out that Pop Art is a style of art based on simple, bold images of everyday items painted in bright colours. They enjoyed looking at his paintings and discussing how the different colours made his artwork 'pop'. The children spent time drawing a toy they had brought in from home, looking closely at the shapes they could see as well as the finer details. Then, they used Andy Warhol's style of painting to create their own pop art toy painting.
