Creative Week - Year 2 Art Work

In Year 2, the children made their own version of a jubilee carriage. They focussed on making moving mechanisms such as wheels and axles and used recyclable cardboard boxes to make a chassis and body. They painted them to look like authentic royal carriages that could have been used during a jubilee. During the second half of the week, the children learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky who was known for his abstract art. The children recapped primary and secondary colours and created different versions of Kandinsky's concentric circles. This included tearing different coloured paper, painting circles in their sketch books and creating a mosaic out of coloured card.
