Church Langley Best Team Win Football Cup

Congratulations to the Best Team of footballers from Year 6, who overcame 45 other teams to win the Harlow Schools Primary Football Cup. Having qualified last week in a the team, under the guidance of Mr Stacey and Mr Hannam attended the Football Finals at Passmores – the weather was awful, but they managed to get the games played against the top 8 qualifiers from last week’s events. After a first round of games, teams were re-pooled with Jerounds, Purford Green and our Church Langley boys making it through to the final group stage. Some close matches resulted in the need for a penalty shootout between the final two.  After several penalties, saves, misses and retakes, Church Langley won the cup with the winning goal scored by goalkeeper Freddie T. The team will now progress to the Essex County Finals in November.
