Get Your Kit On -2017

Building on the amazing day last year, the children looked fantastic in a range of football inspired kits; the staff too looked great in their commemorative 20th Anniversary Kit. The morning began with the children from the Foundation Stage venturing on mass onto the all-weather pitch to take part in some fun football skills led by Mr Stacey and Mr Hammond. The children ran, dribbled and chased each other in various drills, with the adults joining in much to the delight of the children. Year 1 and 2 followed suit, having an hour of skills and games. The smiles and enjoyment were written all over the children’s faces; they were physically shattered after their session – as were some of the adults!

Immediately following lunchtime, the staff took to the all-weather surface to take part in a series of kids v adults matches. Children from Years 2-6 were invited to spectate and cheer their team / teacher loudly. Once again they were treated to some truly horrendous sights, the occasional piece of brilliance and more squeals than a pig farm. Despite their early dominance (against the youngest children available) the staff suffered a sound thrashing. Such was their desperation the staff even resorted to some very underhand and dubious tactics – there was a scrum, plenty of tickling and a pyramid! It was great fun and the children were great company and a superb crowd.

The remainder of the afternoon saw Key Stage 2 (nearly 290 children) play a series of games against their peers. The day was a real success. Well done to everyone involved.
