Take One Picture - Year 5

In Year 5, the children in Mrs Semark’s art group created close-up paintings of tiger eyes. Initially, they sketched the basic shape of the eyes and the position of the nose. The detail and depth of colour was added using acrylic paint and a range of careful brush strokes designed to look like fur.
The children in Mrs Adam’s art group created a mono-tone patterned leaf. They used shades of greens and yellows to match the tones from the actual picture by Rousseau. They used tigers’ stripes to create a background to contrast the overlayed leaf pattern.
The children in Miss Freeman’s art group used watercolours to create their own variations of the painting ‘Surprised’. They used a frog as the main focal point rather than a tiger.
