Year 5 go 'Wild' at Danbury

Posted On: 28 June 2015

Once again the kids of Church Langley thrived in the outdoors, as the Year 5s thoroughly enjoyed their 2 night camping trip to Danbury Outdoors. On arrival they were greeted by a large, brand new climbing tower complete with a high-rope challenge which proved really popular, if somewhat scary! The groups undertook a range of exciting activities including: mountain biking, low ropes, high-ropes, obstacle course, climbing wall, problem solving and archery. Sleeping out under the stars - in brand, new tents - the children clearly the feeling of freedom to play in a safe environment; trees were climbed, games were played and there was not a computer/phone in sight. More excitement followed late in the evenings as the children explored the surrounding forests, playing some 'wide' games and listening to the infamous 'ghost story'! It was a great experience; something that will remain with them for many years to come.

As always these events don't just happen magically and the children were very appreciative of the adults who gave of their time to make the experience so special. They gave Mrs Ward a hearty 'Happy Birthday' at midnight on Thursday!
