Art at Church Langley Primary School
Since COVID-19 is restricting access to our super school, we have decided to use our website to share some aspects of the children’s learning with parents and our wider community – starting with art! We have included some developmental work, which reflects progressive steps the children have worked through whilst developing their artistic skills, as well some final masterpieces.

In Year 5, the children have been developing their drawing and painting skills to create one-point perspective representations of an imaginary scene. They focused on creating a wide tonal range within their work. After visiting Leigh-on-Sea, the children were inspired by British artist Paul Bursnall. They created their own coastal scenes using watercolours.

In Year 6, the children have created a range of lighthouse scenes using watercolours and patterns in response to a beach scene. In addition, they have created artwork in the style of Gakonga ? a Kenyan artist who is based in the United Kingdom.
